Challenge #319 - Fleeting Flowers

For this challenge we are doing a Speed Stamping Challenge and the theme for the challenge, created by the lovely Deborah, is Spring Flowers! To get your adrenaline pumping, create a card or other project, in under 10 minutes, that illustrates the seasonal theme of spring flowers! Please let us know how long it took you to make it in your description.

When we do a speed challenge we are not expecting a detailed masterpiece from you. We want you to have fun and see what you can create in under 10 minutes! You can design it in your head or sketch it out first. You can gather all your supplies ahead of time. But once you start the cutting/stamping/die cutting/embossing /etc. process, you must start the timer!

challenge #319

You have 10 minutes!
Let us know, with your entry, how long it took you to complete your card or project! The key is to KISS!! Keep It Simple, Stamper!

Now we'll see what our Design Team did with the theme in under 10 min.:

  • Use the given theme in your project.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #319 when uploading to a public gallery.
  • If you’re unsure about ‘the rules’, check the details under the Challenge Guidelines.
  • You can combine our challenge with up to 3 other compatible challenges.

Winners for Challenge #318 - Let's Get Eggy

There is such a variety of images that you could use to illustrate the theme of Easter! We saw so many of them in your projects! It was so hard to choose between all those creative expressions, but here are the winners for As You See It Challenge #318:

Our Top Pick is: Julie Gearinger

top pick

Julie has made some wise choices in her theme challenge card. The background paper she chose and how she treated it made for a spectacular background for her Easter cross! The Renaissance look of her cross was a great choice for the background and continued the richness of the whole card and she embossed the beautiful sentiment in black instead of just stamping it, to give it importance. Great job, Julie! Congratulations!

Our Featured Artist is: Christy Stanford

Christy's beautifully crafted entry really caught the attention of the Design Team. Between her lovely choice of colours and patterns, her texture in the background pun, the crisp frames around the panels and the inclusion of those 3 adorable little eggs, this card just said "Easter" to us! Check out the same lovely colours reappearing on the little eggs! This card is a well-earned Featured Artist Award! Congratulations, Christy!

Challenge #318 - Let's Get Eggy

Easter is early this year, at the end of March, instead of in April, so we are early, too, thinking of the holiday in our theme challenge, thanks to the foresight of team member Joanne! What do you think of when you think of Easter? Is it bunnies and eggs and spring, or does it hold a more spiritual meaning for you? Whatever it is please share it with us in your stamping project! We're looking forward to your themed entries!

What do you suppose the members of the Design Team think about it all?

Winners for Challenge #317 - A Recipe for Robbie Burns

Thanks to all the testers who tried out our Recipe Challenge last week! We all loved the elements you included to fulfill the recipe requirements, especially the plaid element! It's amazing how 5 different ingredients can be combined in so many different ways. Your cards took the concept of plaid in whole new directions and gave us some beautiful designs! Here are the winners:

Our Top Pick is: Jennie Maier

top pick

Jennie stenciled some lovely yellow plaid as a vertical element down the side of her card front, then used it as a showcase for the beautiful embossed and layered daisy die cuts. Her horizontal layers are lovely spring colours and give us the embossed element of the challenge as well. The cute sentiment boasts the adorable twine bow and the Design Team also loved the coordinating colours of the adhesive dots she used! Congratulations for the Top Pick award, Jennie!

And our Featured Artist this week:

Our Featured Artist is: Erin T.

Erin, our Featured Artist this week, created the most intriguing plaid pattern that formed the whole background of her card! The die cuts were delicate gold foliage with gold cord loops forming the twine element of the challenge. That small white heart has been embossed and the team loved the mix of fonts in the sentiment and also the combination of yellow, gold and black as the palette of the beautiful card! Gold dots completed the look. Congratulations on a truly artistic project, Erin!
